The externship worked on prototyping AI-powered document intelligence for enterprise PDFs, combining OCR, retrieval-augmented generation, and LLM techniques. The work surveyed LLM fundamentals and applied them to design components of an automated document-extraction pipeline.
I documented how LLMs process text end-to-end, showing tokenization, embedding conversion, and next-token probability generation as applied to pharmaceutical documents.
The submission described how LLMs tokenized input into tokens, converted tokens to embeddings, and generated output by predicting next tokens step by step using probability scores.
