Overview

The externship examined how social apps design for authenticity while pursuing growth. Work included benchmarking competitor engagement features, analyzing tradeoffs between friction and retention, and designing a growth-oriented feature concept aligned with BeReal-style authenticity.

What I've accomplished

I produced a five-stage end-to-end user journey for BeReal that recorded user actions, thoughts, and feelings at each stage and identified pain points, including user isolation when no friends were connected.

As a map exercise I outlined five stages from onboarding to exit, recorded user actions, thoughts and feelings at each step, and noted pain points like isolation when no friends were connected.
