I engaged in a financial planning and analysis externship with Attronica, a family-owned IT firm preparing for sale. My role involved organizing financial records, modeling forecasts, and delivering a valuation report to assist in the company's transition. This experience deepened my understanding of FP&A and provided valuable insights into private company valuation processes.
I reviewed five years of financials, calculated eight core ratios, investigated an EBITDA discrepancy, and used an AI-linked Excel check to verify calculations, concluding the business had insufficient upward cushion rather than low depreciation.
I consolidated five years of audited statements into a single formula-driven workbook, built inputs and audit checks, calculated ratio analysis and reconciliations, and documented known limitations and data sources. The result was an auditable financial model and ratio tab.
I reviewed revenue, customer persistence, expense drivers, and working-capital metrics across FY2022–FY2025, wrote an executive memo that diagnosed wallet-share decline, rising SG&A as a share of gross profit, and inventory drag, and recommended targeted commercial and operational actions.
