Collaborated with a five-member team to transform more than 300,000 public Montgomery County crime records into a structured relational database. I contributed to data preparation in Excel, normalization through 3NF, relational database design, SQL implementation, and validation.
The resulting database supported analysis across geographic areas, police districts, and offense categories while incorporating responsible data-management considerations for sensitive public information. The team documented the database architecture and methodology in a 10-page report and earned a 95% project grade.

I was able to recommend new strategies with data visualizations.
Based on the analysis, I developed recommendations including multilingual resources and expanded community outreach. The project was selected by my instructor to be shared with another researcher conducting related community studies. I recorded and uploaded a presentation pitch on YouTube.

A data analytics externship with the Center for Improving Youth Justice, focused on analyzing long-term juvenile justice datasets to surface correlations in incidents, demographics, and outcomes.
The externship worked with CIYJ's multi-decade juvenile justice dataset, including incident reports, surveys, demographic records, and outcome measures. The project established what kinds of correlational analysis the data can support and documented methodological limitations and appropriate analytic roles.
