Attronica Financial Planning & Analysis and Private Company Valuation Externship

A 40-year-old, $80M family-owned IT firm is preparing to sell — and they need real FP&A work to back it: clean financials, a defensible forecast, and a valuation. Organize the books, model the forecast, and deliver a valuation that lands on the CEO's desk and on a buyer's table.

Overview

The project organized and validated historical financial records, built a forecast model, and produced a valuation for a privately held IT company. The work reconciled accounting statements, constructed a multi-year financial forecast, and calculated valuation outputs that were compiled as deliverables.

What I've accomplished

I produced a linked spreadsheet with five years of financials and eight standard ratios, benchmarked those ratios against industry norms, and delivered a three-bullet FP&A summary that flagged the main findings and issues.

Project breakdown

I read five years of Attronica financials, calculated the eight FP&A ratios in a validated spreadsheet, and prepared comparative ratio analysis against industry peers to support the FP&A read.

Faced with Attronica's financials, I analyzed customers, costs, and cash across FY2022–FY2025, calculated DSO/DIO/DPO and the cash conversion cycle, and recommended inventory cuts, SG&A restraint, and actions to reduce customer concentration; I delivered a memo with findings and concrete next steps.

Situation: the AV division needed a forward-looking P&L. Task: produce a five-year projection. Action: I built year-by-year sales, COGS, payroll and net profit lines in a spreadsheet. Result: a delivered projection spreadsheet showing five-year forecasts and staffing assumptions.
