About me

I leverage statistical analysis and data management to drive insights in public health, ensuring quality in large-scale datasets.

As a Public Health Data Analyst and Biostatistician, I hold a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). My work focuses on using R, SPSS, and SAS for statistical analysis, data cleaning, and ensuring quality in large-scale population health datasets like MIDUS 3 (n=3,377). I’m skilled in regression analysis, ANOVA, and both descriptive and inferential statistics. Additionally, I’m ICH-GCP and CITI certified, and I have co-authored a manuscript that is currently under

TruBridge Healthcare Data Analytics Externship

A TruBridge externship exploring healthcare data analytics, statistical modeling, and dashboarding using large public datasets.

Data AnalysisData VisualizationData Storytelling

Overview

The externship centered on analyzing large public healthcare datasets to identify patterns and build analytic artifacts. Work included defining analytic approaches, running statistical and correlational analyses, and producing interactive dashboards and visual summaries. Deliverables documented methods, findings, and data visualizations.

What I've accomplished

I selected and validated a paired dataset (NJSHAD county rates and HRSA dental HPSA designations), identified a unit-of-analysis mismatch on HRSA data, and prepared the county-aggregated pairing for downstream analysis.

Project breakdown

I chose NJSHAD county rates for annual adult dental visits and HRSA dental HPSA designations, evaluated dataset fitness, noted one unit-of-analysis mismatch on HRSA (needed county aggregation), and carried the pairing forward as my top candidate.

I inspected two NJ county files, left-joined them, cleaned names, handled five zero-designation counties as true zeros, described distributions, and reported a weak negative correlation (r = -0.30) between num_designated and dental_visit_rate.

I defended Pearson for two continuous variables, ran the test on 21 counties, and reported r = -0.304 with p = 0.1799, noting the moderate negative association but insufficient significance given the small sample.

I ran the nine-item stress test on my Project 3 result, documented AI feedback, rewrote the interpretation into Pattern, Strength, Limits, Implication, and added two new limits (county poverty confounding and ecological inference limits).
