Data-Driven Decision Making Externship with CIYJ

A data-driven externship with the Center for Improving Youth Justice that analyzed administrative and incident records to surface correlations in juvenile facility outcomes.

Data AnalysisPythonData VisualizationStatistical Research

Overview

The project analyzed CIYJ's multi-decade dataset of youth and staff surveys, incident reports, demographics, and outcomes to test common assumptions about juvenile facility operations. The work defined analytic approaches, measured which variables correlated with adverse incidents, and produced cleaned, documented data ready for further modelling.
