The Boston Red Sox don't run a named intern class. They post one-off internships by department, on TeamWork Online and the club's Lever board. The latest, an Evergreen Fall Internship at $15 an hour, was open from 11 September to 11 October 2026. The 2026 Photography Intern, posted on 14 November 2025, paid $25 an hour for March to October at Fenway Park. On 17 October 2026 nothing intern-titled was open on either board. Here's the cycle in plain words: 2027 season internships are expected to post from about mid-November 2026 to January 2027, and you work March to October 2027. Year-long Associate roles carry the same label but aren't internships.

Red Sox internships lean on photography, event hospitality and fan experience, so a finished project in creative work or guest insight helps. Externships are short, remote programs where you complete a real project for a real company, most commonly over 8 weeks. What Is a Boston Red Sox Internship?
A Boston Red Sox internship is a paid, season-based student role with the MLB club at Fenway Park. The club posts them one at a time on its Lever board and its TeamWork board, under the name "Boston Red Sox and Fenway Sports Management". What we found: a Photography Intern for the full baseball season, an Evergreen Fall Internship with the events team that runs non-baseball events at Fenway, and Florida ballpark operations internships for spring training. The club also posts year-long Associate roles with the same Lever tag, such as Client Services Associate and Junior Sales Associate. Those are Associate jobs, not internships. The Red Sox are an MLB club; Fenway Sports Management is a separate business.

When Do Boston Red Sox Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
The Red Sox run several small clocks rather than one. The Photography internship moved from January (posted 6 January 2023 and 3 January 2025) to mid-November (posted 14 November 2025 for the 2026 season). The Evergreen fall internship has one dated instance, 11 September to 11 October 2026. Florida ballpark operations internships posted in June 2022 and June 2023, with 30-day windows, and none turned up after that. Posting to start ran about 2 months for the January 2025 posting and about 4 months for the November 2025 one, so apply as soon as a role posts. Nothing for 2027 has been announced.
No internship is open. The Evergreen Fall Internship closed on 11 October 2026. The Red Sox's Lever board listed 11 postings on 17 October 2026 and TeamWork listed 5, and none was an internship.
Prepare a portfolio or résumé, and for photography, a gallery of sports or event work. Set alerts on both boards.
Applications for 2027 season internships are expected. Last year's Photography Intern posted on 14 November, and earlier years posted in early January with a 30-day window. Apply in the first week.
The 2027 baseball season starts. The 2026 Photography Intern's term began in March and ran to October, at least 35 hours a week.
An Evergreen fall internship may post again, if the club repeats it; it has one dated instance so far. Florida ballpark operations internships posted in June 2022 and 2023, but none since.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
The Red Sox use two systems with two urgency modes. On TeamWork, postings stay open about 30 days with a stated end date, so the window is short but known. On Lever, the postings we read show no closing date, and roles can come down once filled. The Photography Intern posted in mid-November 2025 for a March start, so the club hires early for the season. Apply in the first week of any posting, and set alerts so you see it. Season-long roles reward early applicants who can commit through the post-season.
Which Boston Red Sox Internship Programs Should You Target?
No named program exists. These are the dated internship postings we could read, newest first, plus the year-long Associate roles that aren't internships.

| 2025 Photography Internship | Season photography; March to November 2025, 35 hours a week | 3 Jan to 2 Feb 2025 | Sports or event photography experience |
| Florida Ballpark Operations Internship (2 positions, Fort Myers) | Spring-training operations; October to April; college credit available | 6 Jun to 5 Jul 2022 and 15 Jun to 15 Jul 2023 | Junior year or greater |

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Requirements differ by posting:
• Evergreen Fall Internship: currently pursuing a degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field.
• Florida ballpark operations: junior year or greater, with college credit available (2022 and 2023 postings).
• Photography: experience or coursework in sports, news or event photography, Adobe and Photo Mechanic, and a commitment through the post-season. No enrollment requirement appeared in the text we read.
• Junior Sales Associate: aimed at recent graduates, so it isn't a student internship.
• GPA and work authorization: not stated in any posting we read.

Do You Need to Be a Student to Apply?
For the Evergreen and Florida roles, yes. The Photography postings we read ask about experience, not enrollment, and they require a long commitment: at least 35 hours a week from March to October, including nights, weekends and holidays. That's hard to combine with a full class load.
What Skills Do the Boston Red Sox Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
With no internship open, we read the postings we found. Photography: Adobe Creative Cloud and Photo Mechanic are required, and the work covers gameday coverage, editing, captioning and archiving. Events and hospitality: the Evergreen role sits on the events team and asks for lifting and a hospitality, business or marketing background. Availability: nights, weekends, holidays and 35 hours a week for photography. Systems: the year-long Client Services Associate role prefers Salesforce and Qualtrics, though that's not an internship.
Note: No skill chart: no Red Sox internship was open on 17 October 2026, and the few archived postings are too different to count.

For Boston Red Sox applicants: the club's Lever board listed 11 postings on 17 October 2026, none an internship, and its TeamWork board listed 5, none an internship. Most marketing internships for summer 2027 are being filled now, so apply elsewhere while you wait for the Red Sox.

For photography, an Externship deliverable can sit in your portfolio next to your own sports work, which is what the postings ask to see.
What Is the Boston Red Sox Application and Interview Process Like?
The Red Sox don't publish an interview format. This is what the postings show:
1. Pick the board. One-off internships have appeared on TeamWork Online; season-long roles are on the club's Lever board. Watch both.
2. Watch from November. The last Photography posting went up on 14 November, so check weekly from then through January.
3. Read the title and term. An "Associate/Co-op/Intern" label can sit on an 11-month Associate job, not an internship.
4. Apply with proof. Photography needs Adobe and Photo Mechanic skills, so attach a gallery. Event roles need your availability.
5. Interview and offer. Steps aren't published.
A Red Sox employee on Reddit said many jobs in sports are filled by word of mouth, so the people you meet in an internship matter.
What Students on Reddit Say
Red Sox threads are few, but the people who worked there are candid.
A Red Sox front-office employee said the job is rewarding but means long hours, and that the sports industry is less glamorous than it looks. Their route was a sport management degree, internships with New England minor-league and collegiate teams, then game-day staff work that led to a full-time role. They added that many openings are filled by word of mouth.
A former employee of six years, not in the front office, called the experience fun and full of great memories, but said staff outside the team itself are underpaid and overworked because the club trades on its name.
On breaking into a baseball front office after college, commenters advised building a portfolio of baseball analytics projects, learning SQL and Python or R, and applying widely. One noted that teams sometimes send a work-sample project that's useful practice. That's general MLB advice, not Red Sox specific.
How Do You Stand Out for a Red Sox Internship?
Three moves. First, watch the calendar. Photography posted in mid-November last year, and earlier cycles posted in early January, so check both boards weekly from November. Second, bring role-specific proof. The photography role requires Adobe Creative Cloud and Photo Mechanic and asks for a long-term photo project, so a finished gallery beats a general application. Event roles favor hospitality or marketing coursework. Third, be able to commit. Season-long roles need nights, weekends and holidays for months. The Red Sox don't publish an applicant count or a conversion rate, so treat the internship as a way in, as the employee on Reddit did, and use minor-league and collegiate-summer internships nearby to build experience first.

No Red Sox internship is open today, and 2027 season roles are expected to post from mid-November. Prepare your portfolio now, and if you want a finished project to show, a remote Externship takes about 5 to 10 hours a week.
